I Tried 37 AI Image Upscalers. This One Is The Best

I tested nearly all the AI image upscalers on the market to save you time.

I found the best one to be: Aiarty Image Upscaler

(You can try it for free with the above link.)

This AI image upscaler takes low-resolution images and turns those into high resolution using AI. It’s easy to use and just takes seconds to run on your photos.

Let me show you my results and how to use this tool.

Here’s an example of a before-and-after image that I got from this tool:

Main Features

Before I show you my results, here are the main features of Aiarty:

  • High-Resolution Upscaling — Enhances images up to 32K resolution.
  • Noise Reduction — Removes noise from images.
  • Deblurring — Makes images clearer by removing blur.
  • Detail Enhancement — Adds fine details to your images.
  • Batch Processing — Lets you process multiple images at once.
  • Offline Functionality — Works without internet; available for both Mac and Windows.
  • Three AI Models — Includes More-detail GAN, Smooth Diff, and Real-Photo.
  • Versatility — Works with many types of photos, including AI-generated images.

My Experience

Let me show you how to start using Aiarty to enhance/scale up your images.

1. Install

Usually, I test online upscaler tools.

But this one is a downloadable program. It works on both Mac and Windows — which is rare in this space.

Then just activate your license. You can do this for free as a first-time user using this page: Aiarty Image Upscaler Free

Then I opened the program for the first time.

It has a very simple, easy-to-use interface. Just drag and drop images into the window, enhance their resolution with AI — and that’s it!

When I started testing it, I noticed that even smaller images took a while to upscale.

Sometimes I had to wait 2–5 minutes.

I was also a bit confused by the “Waiting for inference…” message that showed up after the upscaling should have been done.

But that’s a minor issue! Let’s see how the tool actually performs.

Aiarty has three upscaling models:

  • More Detail GAN v2
  • Smooth Diff v2
  • Real Photo v3

Each model works differently depending on the type of image.

You should try all of them to see which gives the best results.

For example, one might work better on real photos, while another does better on AI-generated images.

1. Example: More Detail GAN v2 Upscaler

To pick an upscaling model, just click “More Detail GAN v2” on the right side.

Then wait a bit. The time depends on the size of your image.

Here’s the result I got:

As you can see, the image on the left is blurry and pixelated.

The one on the right is smooth and sharp. It doesn’t even look like it was AI-processed.

It looks realistic, which is exactly what I like!

Here’s another image I upscaled using this mode:

Pretty cool, huh?

This one looks a little artificial, but that’s easy to fix by lowering the upscaling factor.

For example, 8X might be overkill. I think 2X or 4X could give better results instead.

2. Smooth Diff v2

I then tested the Smooth Diff v2 model.

Once again, here’s the original image versus the upscaled version:

Looks good, though a bit blurrier than the previous model.

This shows why it’s a good idea to try different Aiarty models and upscaling factors.

Here’s the model working on my holiday image:

Here, the result is also a bit blurrier and less sharp.

3. Real Photo v3

Finally, let’s try the Real Photo v3 version.

Here’s the before-and-after:

I like this one because it’s subtle.

It doesn’t make the image too sharp or overly detailed.

At the same time, the difference isn’t huge. It just removed some pixelation and smoothed the image a bit — but not as much as I wanted.

That’s why I’d say the first model gave me the best results.

For comparison, here’s a before-and-after with Real Photo v3 for the holiday image from earlier:

Upscaling people

One thing I noticed is that Aiarty isn’t great at upscaling people.

For example, here’s me upscaling a photo of myself from 2012:

The Real Photo v3 model doesn’t change people much.

The other models could fix this, but they tend to make people look weird, so I wouldn’t recommend using them for portraits.

Overall, though, it’s a solid tool. It improves your images, is easy to use, and is way faster than doing it manually.

Using Aiarty on MidJourney Images

One of the standout features of Aiarty is upscaling AI-generated MidJourney images.

Here are some before-and-after examples using Aiarty. (All of these are AI-generated with the MidJourney model:)

Aiarty gives it that extra sharpness and push to take it to the next level!

Pros

  • Works well with real images, like buildings or scenery.
  • Fast! Without a tool like this, making these improvements would take hours — or might be impossible.
  • Easy to use — just drag and drop an image, pick a model, and you’re done!

Cons

  • Not good with people. Using models other than Real Photo v3 can make people look weird.
  • Slower than other AI upscalers. Even though it saves a lot of time, it can still take around 5 minutes per image.

Pricing

  • Standard: $85.00 (one-time)
  • Lifetime: $115.00

To Take Home

Aiarty is great! It takes blurry, pixelated images and makes them clearer and bigger.

Just drag and drop your images into the window and wait a couple of minutes for the results.

I’d say it’s one of the best tools I’ve tested — maybe even the best.

Especially with the lifetime plan, you can save a lot if you have tons of images to work on.

I’d definitely give it a try!
